Summer Days

Today is just another HOT summer day. I don't know about anyone else but I think I'm about ready for a little cool down. So today, just like so many other of our summer days, was spent outside, playing, swimming and trying our best to stay cool. (And yes... even I took a dip in Porter's pool-don't worry no pictures- So you know it must be really HOT if even I get in!)

Party Day

Party Day! Saturday we celebrated the birthdays of two of my most favorite people...

Ryan - 33 yrs and Porter- 3 yrs

Porter's birthday was August 12th. We were out of town on vacation that weekend and didn't have a party so we decided to just have a big "boys" birthday bash while family was going to be in town. The evening was filled with lots of friends, family and fun not to mention some "Guitar Hero" and even a fire breathing dragon cake!
Thanks to everyone for making my boys birthday's a good one!!

So for those of you who haven't heard of "Guitar Hero" before let me explain... It is a music video game for Play Station and XBOX. The player uses a guitar-shaped peripheral to play rock songs as notes scroll towards the player. It's a lot of fun to play and sometimes even funner to watch someone else play!
(If you haven't already guessed ,this is what Ryan got for his birthday)

Colby & Ryan getting warmed up

Derek getting his grove on and Gerald really rock'n it!

Porter and Cody even learning to ROCK!

And last but not least.... our Fire Breathing Dragon cake! (A request by Porter)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOYS!!

A Wet and Wild Day

We have had a pretty busy week. My brother Derek, his wife Krystal and their new baby came into town last weekend and my other little bro Colby flew in Wednesday. So what started off as a not so good week (being that my car was involved in a hit and run accident while parked AND Ryan and both boys were sick) only got better. Everyone overcame their illness just in time for our visitors and we able to have a fun filled weekend! Friday was Ryan's 33 birthday so needless to say the party began... Ryan was able to take the day off of work so he and the boys went surfing at San Onofre in the morning and then we all headed to Wild Rivers for the day.
Fun was had by all!

Time For A Change

Good bye blondie... Hello brunette.
So I decided it was time for a change... hence the new new hair color. Thank goodness that Megan is so good at what she does it turned out great and I am loving it!! Who really believes that blonds have more fun anyway. So anyone out there thinking of making a change, I say go for it, live is too short to hold back!

Can you say YUCK!!

So some of you have already heard... my sweet innocent baby Phearson was playing outside with the family the other evening and found something yummy to chew on. With a quick finger sweep and an assumption it would be a leaf, to my terror I pulled out and BEETLE!! (I still get completely grossed out even thinking about it.) He didn't see to mind however and was even a bit disappointed that mom had pulled his tasty snack out of his mouth. Words of advice moms... Don't take your eyes off those little guys or you too may be pulling insects from your children's mouths!!

We are finally Here!

So hello to all! I finally decided it was time to jump on the bandwagon and join the blogging world. I enjoy looking at everyones fun pictures and events... I was starting to feel like (as someone once put it to me) a "blog stocker". So I figured I too, might as well share what is going on with the Rosenlof family. I hope that you will find our site fun and I hope that our blog will help so many of our family and friends who live far feel a bit closer! So here it goes... Welcome to our family!!
