A whole lot of nothing

I have to admit that life has been a bit BORING around here lately. I can't believe that I am actually saying that... Boring.

I mean can life really be boring with three little boys running a muck, wrestling, fighting, playing, crying, yelling and laughing all day long? I suppose it has just become "the usual around here". Maybe that is what I am trying to say. Things have pretty much just been "the usual" around here. We have been doing a whole lot of nothing and whole lot of everything all at the same time.
" The Nothing"
Watching and waiting for the rain to stop falling.

Enjoying any bit of sunshine we can get.

Finding new ways to entertain ourselves

Playing indoors... A LOT!

"Gaming"

And just doing a whole lot of "the usual"....
Waiting for a familiar face to return after a LONG day at work

while doing a whole lot of everything in between.
"The Everything"
Washing dishes, laundry, running kids to school, picking them up, grocery shopping, cleaning the house, working a few shifts here and there, breaking up fights, bandaging owies, playing referee, helping with homework, making dinner, breakfast, lunches, bathing, dressing, reading to and entertaining children all day, every day.

I guess BORING really isn't the right word.

A little Sunday conversation

Phearson: (From the back seat on our way to church)
"I don't want to go to primary."

Dad: "Why not?"

Phearson: "Because."

Dad: "Jesus would want you to go to primary."

Phearson: "No."

Dad: "Where would Jesus want you to go?"

Phearson: "Jesus would want me to go to Target."

Dad: (Holding back the laughter) "Target!?"

Phearson: "Yes, Jesus would want me to get a toy and an Icee."

* Mom: cracking up, speechless and pleads the 5th!*

Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced rain.
-author unknown

(Sing with me now)
"I'm singing in the rain
Just singing in the rain...

What a glorious feeling...

I'm happy again

I'm laughing at clouds
So dark up above...
Singing, singing in the rain.
In the rain!"

A Shoping Cart Tank and a Happy Mom

It is amazing I actually get anything accomplished when I go to the store with my kids. It usually goes something like this.
As we drive to our designated location I threaten, bribe and plead for good behavior.
We proceed to the store.
Then there is a fight of who is going to sit, stand, where or within on the shopping cart.
The kids usually manage to get along and remain quite for the first 2 minutes within in store.
Playing quietly with each other quickly turns into a fight, which then comes tears and most frequently some yelling.
I once again start the threats, bribes and pleas under my breath. (although I'm sure the frustration is written all over my face.)
I get lots of awkward stares from from other random costumers.
A few sympathetic people offer a head shake and a "wow your sure do have your hands full".
I have my list and we proceed on.
I mean what is a mom to do?
Sometimes you just need to run to the store.
This mom has devised a new plan.
It is all about make believe.
Kids love that stuff.
Today we used a rug to create our very own "shopping tank".
The boys pretended to shoot every nice shopper wondering throughout Lowes,
And mom managed to get her shopping done peacefully.
Of course we did get lots of weird looks, a few disgusted faces but we also had a few fun shoppers play along with us.
Kids were happy and having fun = shopping accomplished = happy Mom!

What Did He Think?

So the big question lately has been...
So, what did he think?
What did he say?
Does he like it?

After YEARS of having a friend, girlfriend, fiance, wife, who has looked like this...

And then doing this

Resulting in this

You might say it was sort of a big deal for Him.
For those of you who know Ryan you know that he is a "long hair" kinda guy. No, I am not referring to his choice in hair style these days (ugh!) but rather his preference/likes in a woman's hair style. Being the loving wife I am I have always taken in to account the fact that he loves my hair long (and because I have always been too chicken to go ahead and chop it off) I have forever had long hair.

But I think there comes a time in every woman's life, when after caring, day in and day out, for others that she decides to do something for herself. I had been thinking of making a change for some time and well, I guess I finally just got the "you know what" to do it.

As I drove to work one night I thought to myself... "I'm just going to do it!" And well... that is what I did.

He claims I didn't tell him. I guess you could say I really didn't. Although I did give him a little warning days before when I expressed to him that "I really need to get in to get my hair done.... and that I think I might have her cut it off." However of course he claims that he didn't hear that part. I suppose sometimes that selective hearing isn't such a great thing after all.

So what was the reaction you ask?
My thought was that it would be something like this.
It wasn't.
To be quite honest, there wasn't much of a reaction at all.
Just a glance.

And a bit of a shrug.

And when I finally asked him if he liked it, he simply said,
"If you like it... then I like it."
Don't you worry though.
I know that deep down inside he is smiling

And would get down on one knee and ask this girl to be his wife all over again!
(Or at least I hope he would)

Maybe another day

I had good intentions of blogging something fun today.

Instead...

I started my morning cleaning up yet another random episode of poop in the bathtub

Unplugging the toilet, the sink is filled with dirty dishes, there is mountains of laundary to do, school projects to be done and
I have to work tonight.
I have lost the motivation

Maybe I will post something fun another day.

Worth a Try

Yes I did this on purpose.

Do I really think it will work?
Probably not.
But anything is worth a try, right?
