Thank Goodness for Mothers!

So I'm not exactly where to start. The last couple of weeks have been hectic around the Rosenlof's... all I can say for sure is THANK GOODNESS FOR MOTHERS!! We have had some fun times and some not so fun times. It started two weeks ago when Ryan made a trip to Washington to work for 4 days. Work here in California at Ryan's job had gotten "slow", as it does frequently this time of year, so our friends the Nash's offered to have Ryan fly to Washington to work at their warehouse and do some side work electrical jobs. It was kinda of a last minute thing so I called my mom (who lives in Utah) and "tossed out" the idea of her coming to California to visit/help me with the kids and stuff while Ryan was gone. And here comes the THANK GOODNESS FOR MOTHERS part. Without any hesitation she booked a flight and was on her way!! It was great having her here, not to mention the help and the boys had a blast spending time with her!
Thanks mom!
Celebrating a belated birthday with Grandma Bell while she was here in California
So we managed to make through a week without daddy/husband with help from Grandma. We were happy to have Ryan returned home safely... and then it happened...
The Flu took over our house! Porter started the marathon Monday night... ALL night, Ryan joined the fun Tuesday evening (while I was at work) ALL night and by Wednesday morning it was all I had to make the drive home only to walk straight to the bathroom as I got home from work and bury my face in the toilet... ALL day Wednesday. Needless to say I was of no help after being up all night at work plus the day before and the night before with Porter and now being sick myself! Ryan was stuck with being sick himself and two little sick boys! Hence the THANK GOODNESS FOR MOTHERS again! Ryan's mom came to the rescue providing some flu necessities, not to mention her TLC and frequent phone calls checking up on us! What would we do without our Mothers!

So we managed to make it through the week, flu and all, and are slowing getting back on our feet. All I can say is THANK YOU, THANK YOU to our MOMS..

Louise and Robin.. YOUR THE BEST!! THANK GOODNESS FOR MOTHERS!!

Baby Comparison

So I had my ultrasound last week and to my surprise the ultrasound tech switched the ultrasound over to 4-D pictures... just like magic! I was so excited being that I have never had a 4-D ultrasound before. It was amazing how well you can see the baby's features and movements! (Sorry to all of you who also get a glimpse of my insides... uterus/placenta etc., that was floating around the little guy) It was pretty amazing and of course I automatically started to compare. I think he looks a lot like the other two and will fit in just fine. What do you think?

Baby Update

I thought I would post a little baby update. Rosie baby #3 is doing well and growing fast.
Just a little background info for thoes of you who may not know... bloodtests have shown that I have some sort of antibodies in my blood. I had these antibodies while I was pregnant with Phearson as well. I had to have blood drawn monthly with that pregnancy however results always came back that it was "too scant to be identified".
Note*
Apparently everyone has antibiodies/proteins in their blood. There are certain types however, that can cross the placenta and possibly be harmful to a baby. These certain types of antibiodies if crossing the placenta see the baby's red blood cells as foreign thus attacking them, causing the baby to become anemic and other hemolytic problems such as "hydrops"(the accumulation of fluid around a baby's organs).
So upon finding out that we were pregnant again, we started the bloodtests all over. Of course the inital test came back that I had antibiodies in my blood (Duh! I mean where would they go!) So then came the task of trying to identify them to find out if it could be potentially harmful to the baby. The test came back this time and was able to identify 3 different types... So off to the High Risk OBGYN doctor we went. Thankfully two of the three were insignifigant. There is one however that although "not likely" could potentially be harmful causing the problems listed above. So after starting weekly ultrasounds with the high risk Dr. and both Ryan and I having MORE blood drawn we got some good news. We found out that Ryan carries the antigen associated with "this specific" antibiody in his blood and this is how I probbably became "sentisized". I know, this gets confusing.... but overall it is a good thing because there is a high possibilty that the baby contains this part of Ryan's blood and therefore even if this antibody crosses the placenta it will not attack the baby's blood... YEA! So we have graduated from weekly ultrasounds to every two weeks. They still want to monitor the baby closely but the chances of complications are much less.
It is amazing how these little babies form, develop and grow over 10 months and how easily it is to have something go wrong. We feel so blessed with the opportunity we have had to have our sweet boys and for them to be so healthly. After having some complications and the numerous possibilities of problems we feel so lucky for what we have and are taking none of these little guys for granted!!
