SHE's no Betty Crocker

You Know SHE doesn't cook when...
There is not one of these to be found anywhere in the kitchen And every knife to be found is only sharp enough to slice a piece of bread
And the only spice found in the cupboard is Ground Cinnamon And after being married and on HER own for 10+ years She had to call her mom and ask how to make a hard boiled egg! And finally...
When SHE asks her 4yr old son what he wants mommy to make for dinner His reply is "Wendy's"! You know that SHE does not cook!! Thank heavens Thanksgiving Dinner isn't at HER house! (My apologies Mom, I know you taught me better than that!)
But don't you worry...
SHE can whip up a great batch of these in a moments notice!

Lazy Days

You know it's going to be "one of those" days when...
Everyone sleeps in, even the baby...
The sun just peeks out from behind the clouds every now and then...
There is rain in the forecast...
The heater is turned on to warm the cold crisp air of an old non insulated house...
There is no school or errands to run...
and nobody wants to get out of their P.J.'s.
Yep, It's going to be "One of Those Days", the best kind of days...
A good old Lazy Day!
And what would a good old Lazy Day be without some good old hot chocolate! We are loving our Lazy Day!!

32 and counting!

Cheers to being one year older...

A baby lighter and a few brain cells shorter (I'm sure)!

Special thanks to great family and friends for making it a good one.
Now lets go shopping!- Non maternity!

Brothers=Good times & broken faces

So I know that many of you have already seen this and or heard about it, but for the sake of having this permanently on record here at the Rosenlof family blog I had to post again.
You know how boys "are" when they get together... especially brothers. Well Ryan and Todd are no different. Everything turns into a game or contest or dare. So this particular evening was no different. What started off as playing "airplane" with the kids soon became a challenge whether Ryan and Todd could "airplane" each other...
Harmless right...
Next came the stairs...
It started off with Jack and Porter sliding down the stairs, on a shelf, head first.
Maybe not the smartest thing... but fairly harmless...
Which then lead to Ryan "surfing" down the stairs on the shelf
Then came...
"THE CHALLENGE"
For Ryan to "surf" down the stairs on the shelf from the top of the staircase.
And as the saying goes
It's all fun and games until...
Someone puts their head through a wall!!
Unfortunately the shelf stopped a few stairs from the bottom but Ryan didn't!
Fortunately he had no concussion or need for stitches and we were all able to laugh about it. My "stunt man" the next day Never a dull moment with the Rosenlof's!

Say "Cheese"

So today was school pictures at preschool. Normally no big deal right, give the child a bath and throw a cute shirt on. But is it just me, or does there come a time in every kid's childhood that when asked to smile they are compelled to display the most weird, awkward, grin "smile". In Porter's case it's the classic "CHEESY" grin. It drives me crazy! I have been trying to break him of the habit and since school pictures were coming we have been practicing. Things usually start out alright but quickly proceed to "bad".
For instance...
And when I asked him today after school how he smiled for his picture he proceeded to show me
THIS!
Nothing but Cheese!
The worse part... he is totally serious with this smile.
(We are just keeping our fingers crossed)

Oh.. how the time flys

The last 3 weeks have been a bit "interesting" here at the Rosenlof's. Not only has our computer been out of commission, Ryan was working out of town and only home on the weekends. Honestly I'm not sure how we made it to today, it all seems like a big whirl win looking back. I would love to say that things have slowed down a bit but I have given in to the realization that our live is forever in fast forward at this point. So as always... I strap in and hold on tight for this ride we call life!
Just a few happenings over the past several weeks.
Ryan joined Nascar...
Porter has taken up motorcycle riding...
Tav decided that he was ready to eat more than just a bottle...
Porter decided he is too cool for pictures at the Pumpkin Patch... Phearson is on a popcorn diet... (Thanks Rendi)Tav finally grew a few rolls!... I realized just how OLD I am after staying out WAY past my bedtime to go to Knott's Scary Farm with my little brother and his cute girlfriend And riding the Ghost Rider with Rendi and having Ryan laugh at our bobble heads the whole time! We made yummy festive cookies and won 1st place at our annual harvest festival... (Thanks to "picky-palate" for the great recipe!) We got shots... And more shots... And even more shots... We had fun sleepovers with fun grandma and grammy so that mommy could go to work... We played lots with cousins...
We've had a few bumps and bruises...
And got ourselves into a few compromising situations...
We made lots of wishes that this little guy do a lot more of this once the sun went down!...
Mom and Porter got to have a fun "date day" at Disneyland
We soothed a few sore bums...
We received fun treats from Daddy each weekend he came home...
We shared lots of "brotherly love"...
And after spending lots of time chasing little boys..
We tried our best no to go BANANAS!
Or at least just a little bit!
