Why is it...
That when Porter suggested taking a leisurely Sunday afternoon walk in Tav's new Red Wagon...
It ended up something like THIS!
And THIS...
With a few of THESE!
And then some more of THIS...(Only this time with protective gear)
And THIS...
And ONCE AGAIN, THIS!
And a bit of THIS

Until we finally get to THIS!!

Spring Break... Preschool Style
Last week was Spring Break for Porter.
School was out and it was time to play.
(or attempt to keep the kids busy)
We started off the week with Easter.

We did all the usual Easter stuff... colored eggs and our hands, participated in Easter egg hunts, ate way too much candy, and off course... managed to get the an Easter basket/pail stuck on someones head... ya know, the usual.
Once we managed to pry the bucket from Phearsons head we enjoyed a great Easter Sunday with family and friends. Unfortunately I didn't get many pictures with all the activity... Easter bunny, church, parties, barbeque's, and work. However my brother in law did manage to capture on video one of the highlights of the party. I mean what would a good family get together be without the boys being a little crazy with the kids right?

(Ryan pushing Porter)
The rest of the week was spent having fun and trying new things. Sort of a "staycation".
Our goal= be thrifty, spend time together and have lots of fun!
We did some of our usual "fun" things, such as...
nRound Table Pizza Family Night
nChick-fil-a
nDougnuts
nVisits to grammy's house
But we also tried a few new things too.
Like...
Bowling
Tons of fun!!

Minature Golfing
Dad Showing Porter the basics and then showing off his own skills. (Not sure why Ryan's back looks so broken in that first pic) Porter was loving it! Phearson, on the other hand, just kept getting frustrated, growling out loud and hitting the bushes and ground with the golf club. (Completely inappropriate public behavior but totally hilarious.)
We tried a few new hair styles
And went on lots of bike rides
Porter also learned how to use an empty soda can on his bike tire to "make it sound like a motorcycle" from his Dad. (He rode for hours!)
Awww, the simple things!
We saw a fun Movie
And explored the neighborhood
All in all it was a great week!
(And thanks to a few gift certificates/cards, practically free!)

Like Father Like Son
So way back when Tav was about 3 months old I posted this picture of my little man with his great mane. This kid was born with SO much hair it was unbelievable.
From the time he was born, I was always amazed with just how much hair he had and wondered where he got ALL that hair from.
Well...
I have to say that it is all making a LOT more sense these days...

Like Father, like son!

There Has To Be A Better Way...
For any of you out there that have had a mammogram... let me just say that "I am sorry".
You would think that with technology being as advanced as it is these days that there would be a better way! I guess not.
After having my first mammogram years ago and having a tear jerking experience I swore never to return! And after months of putting this one off I finally decided to buck up and get it done. (Mainly for the sake of my family, in case it was something significant)
So this morning I lathered up with Lidocaine gel (Solarcaine), popped a few ibuprofen and headed for the hospital. With a strait face I totally lied to the tech at the appointment when she asked of I had any powder, lotion or deodorants on, (I was desperate, plus she never mentioned anything about gel) and well.... smash-a-roo. Anyways I'm not sure if the gel or the Ibuprofen helped but I would like to think so and would recommend it. Luckily there was nothing significant to report other than I get to go back in 6 months and do it all over again. Yippee!
For any of you who have not had the wonderful experience of mammography I found a few tips online that may help prepare you. I thought I would share.
By taking a few minutes each day for a week preceding the exam and doing the following practice exercises, you will be totally prepared for the test, and best of all, you can do these simple practice exercises right in your home.
Exercise 1:Open your refrigerator door and insert one breast between the door and the main box. Have one of your strongest friends slam the door shut as hard as possible and lean on the door for good measure. Hold that position for five seconds. Repeat again in case the first time wasn't effective enough.
Exercise 2:Visit your garage at 3 AM when the temperature of the cement floor is just perfect.Take off all your clothes and lie comfortably on the floor with one breast wedged under the rear tire of the car.Ask a friend to slowly back the car up until your breast insufficiently flattened and chilled. Turn over and repeat for the other breast.
Exercise 3:Invite a stranger into the room. Press the bookends against one of your breasts. Smash the bookends together as hard as you can. Set an appointment with the stranger to meet next year and do it again.
And lastly, my own personal tip. Take you hubby along with you. I don't think they quite "get it" until they actually see it.
So there you have it ladies!!!
Call your Dr. today to get those mammograms done?!

It is official...
I said that it would never happen.
Three children under one roof was ENOUGH for this mom.
How can I deny it any longer?
I can not!
It has happened...
And I am,
Slowly,
Gradually,
Coming to terms with the fact...
There WILL forever be ANOTHER CHILD in this family of ours!
Surprise, surprise
another BOY!!!
Only this time I don't have to give birth.(Wheew!)
He is already here...
My very own
Ryan Nils Rosenlof
Now don't get me wrong, I knew that this guy was just a big kid a heart when I married him but I swear that there is something about having children that causes grown men to regress.
Now don't get me wrong, I knew that this guy was just a big kid a heart when I married him but I swear that there is something about having children that causes grown men to regress. Just a couple of "for instances..."
For instance #1. We are having dinner with my in laws, a pleasant evening. Everyone sitting around the dinner table, Porter and Ryan sitting across from each other. The conversation is interrupted as I hear Ryan laughing, Porter pulling a weird face. I look over at my HUSBAND laughing, with his mouth wide open, full of chewed up food, on his protruding tongue at Porter, only to witness the food fall from his mouth onto his plate. Seriously?? Porter laughs, Ryan laughs and then scoops the food right back up from his plate and continue to eat it all over!
For instance #2. Porter comes running in the house the other day just as excited as can be. "Mom, mom!" he says "Dad put a firecracker in my hand and then put fire on it and let me throw it!" Seriously??
For instance #3. We are getting the kids into the car after a fun family outing to Target. Porter and Phearson have their ICEE'S in hand as they climb up into the car. Ryan tells Phearson to let him hold his ICEE while he climbs up into his car seat and then he will give it back. Phearson agrees. Ryan closes the car door, walks around the car to Phearsons window and intentionally stands outside the car drinking the ICEE and waving it in his face as Phearson yells and screams for him to give it back from inside. Seriously??
For instance #4. The boys and I are sitting at the dinner table the other night when Porter asks if he can have a candy. I reply "No. You boys eat way too much candy." And Porter matter of factly replies, "Well Daddy always gives it to us." Seriously??
I could go on and on but I think you get the picture.
On the bright side... at least I won't have to potty train this one!
