I Heart the Beach

So most of you know that Ryan and I love the beach. We would love to live in some tropical place and have the beach at our doorstep. I often daydream about how nice it would be to walk out the backdoor of our house to an ocean view. To be able to walk the kids down to the beach and let them play in the water and sand for hours. We would walk back to the house where we would have an outdoor shower so everyone could just rinse off real quick and throw something comfy on, hang the swimsuits out to dry in the sun and go about our business without missing a beat. (Because you moms know how much "work" it is to take the kids to the beach sometimes. Sand all over the car, all over the kids, sand toys to carry, sunscreen, bags, snacks, hats etc... you get the picture) I daydream about a place that is always warm, a place I could leave my windows open all the time to allow a nice ocean breeze to flow in. A place where the kids learn to swim from day one because it's just what you do. A place where my kids can run around barefoot and shirtless. A place where Ryan could grab his surfboard from the garage after work and we could follow him to the sand to watch him surf.

It sounds wonderful to me.

But since I don't live in such a place I will settle for what I do have. A nice, pleasant, sunny, warm, January afternoon at the beach.

To me, you do live there!!!
I know that you aren't on the beach, but you are closer than I would have ever imagined being.
I love the beach as well, it calms me, not much does what the beach can do, to the heart, the mind, and not to mention the soul! I love the smell, the sounds, and the wind, okay not really the wind, but everything that comes with the scene, I just love.
I just miss it sooo much, especially on this cold February week we have had.
I miss you and your cute family as well, and you all come with the beach! We need to plan a vacation soon.

I know how much you guys love the beach so you just can never move to Washington. Yeah, they have a beach but it's just too cold of a beach!! Right, right!!

When we are all old, you guys want to be neighbors at the beach? We can have dinner on our patios as we watch the sunset. Our children will be there but they will have children. They will be corraling them and won't be able to eat their meals warm. It will be splendid. :)
