What a Day!

So just another quick update for those of you who haven't already heard. I had my amniocentesis done this morning at 8:45 (and not too bad I should say-quick and with minimal discomfort). I went for fetal monitoring right afterwards where I was given the initial results of the amnio which showed that the baby's lungs are not yet mature. I was told that the amniotic fluid would then be sent to UCI where they would perform another more extensive test and that I should receive a call later this evening from my Dr. with the final result. So after waiting all day and not hearing anything I finally placed a call to Labor and Delivery at 8:30 tonight to find out what I should do about my scheduled induction for 7:00am tomorrow. I was told that the test came back and that things looked good but that they would place a call to my Dr. to find out for sure. I received a call back by L&D and was told that they hadn't heard from the Dr. but that the tests "looked good" and to go ahead and come in as planned for the induction. We were a bit surprised but nevertheless excited. Phone calls placed and getting things in order.... only to receive ANOTHER phone call from the Dr. this time. And guess what... YEP... it happened... the final results from UCI also show that the baby's lungs are not yet mature enough to go ahead and induce labor. Sigh! Soooooo induction has been rescheduled until next Tuesday... baby ticker has been reset and we continue on as usual. Just gonna keep this baby cooking for a bit longer. What a day... what a ride! Thanks to everyone for all the calls, texts and support!!! It has been a bumpy one but this roller coaster apparently isn't over yet!!
