My Big "Little" Guy

Is 11 Months Old
Another month has come and gone and my "baby" is now 11 months old. I know that I say this every month but I SERIOUSLY can't believe how the time is flying bye. My sweet neighbor pointed out to me the other day that Tav is not much a baby anymore but rather a "little man". (Tear..)
Anyways we are having a blast with this guy. He is always doing something new and always puts a smile on this mom's face.
I love this kid!!!
Life at 11 months...
*Tav's new love is Anything outside! He has even figured out how to crawl right out the doggie door to get outside by himself.
*Although he is a small little guy he carries with him a lot of personality!
(and attitude!)
*He loves table food and a good bottle
*He loves to point and to wave hello and goodbye
*He is walking all over the place and will no longer sit still for more than a minute, if that!
*Favorite word is "ba"
*He is a total mommas boy
*He likes to cuddle when he is tired
*He has the cutest round little head and tummy
*He still only has 2 teeth
*His brothers have nicknamed him "Tavy"

*He has the cutest little meltdowns when his feelings are hurt or he doesn't get his way.

*But quickly returns to his happy self within minutes!

Looking back... I believe this was the best surprise I have ever had!!!

Because I'm The Mom... Thats Why!

Remember back in the day when your Mom used to bust out with the "I'm the Mom, that's why!" line. Somehow now matter what was going on it seemed to work. I mean what really can you say to that? Well the other day we had the whole family in the car. Porter and Phearson sit in the back and usually bicker back and forth about something insignificantly random and of course this day was no different. Phearson was laughing at Porter for no reason, Porter was annoyed and continued reaching across the empty seat between them(meant to separate the two) to grab Phearson's arm and proceed to twist it as hard as he could(with teeth clenched and growling) until Phearson began to wine or cry with pain. Then the second Porter would let go Phearson would begin to laugh again at him. This fun demonstration of brotherly love continued on and on as Ryan and I would take turns telling them to stop, as we attempted engage in our own adult conversation. For the hundredth time I told the two to stop and told Porter that he was going to break Phearson's arm and once again attempted to return to my conversation. Porter quickly responded with a sassy, know it all, "NO mom... only scissors will break it!" And that is when it happened. Instead of going with the classic, dependable, sensable, "Because I'm the mom and I said so, that's why" line... I turned around in my seat and answered "Yes YOU can break it, I work in a HOSPITAL, I KNOW!" What? "Did I just say that?" I asked Ryan who was looking at me a bit puzzled. To witch he responded, "Yes you did, what exactly does THAT mean anyways?" Although there was no response from the boys, and the car was quiet(probably due to confusion) I think that from now on I will stick with the basic... "I'm The MOM and I said so, That's Why!" Just to be on the safe side.

Are You Ready For Some Baseball !!!!

Introducing...
For the Lakewood Village Little League T-ball Dodgers...
Number 10...
Porter Rosenlof!

I can't believe the time has come! One of MY little guys is playing baseball! We have been getting ready for this for months and Porter has been so excited to actually be on his very own baseball team, uniform and all. Then to find out that he was on the "DODGERS" with his cousin Cody... what a dream come true for this little man. We did opening day, we did the pancake breakfast and we took pictures. Finally the time had come...

The Dodgers first game!

Someone once said that there are three things you can do in a baseball game. You can win, or you can loose, or it can rain.

Well I think that that person never witnessed a bunch of 4 and 5 yr olds play T-ball! I thought that I would share a few highlights from our Dodgers first official game.

Weird and awkward stretching The infamous "cup grab"--- the "ready stance" without looking--- and the "squat"
Does this group look confused to you too?
Every T-ball team has to have a "grass picker"! Thank you to Porter's teammate A.J. for filling that roll!Porter's first "coach pitch" at bat!
And the first slide "attempt" into home base.
(Not sure if it quite worked out how he had pictured it in his head!!)And did I mention that in T-ball... Everyone is a WINNER! But all in all it was a great time and this little man is in baseball heaven!
Go Dodgers!!!

Just Another Day...

So there you have it...

It has been one whole week with Just the Three of us. The Snuggles have been shared, The Laughing has been done. The lazy mornings have been had. And extra goodies have been consumed. Mom has gotten lots of quite time to herself. (Although she didn't quite know what to do with it) It definitely has been different!
Three has been nice,
And easy,
And quiet.
BUT-
Just not the same!
We need some crazy,
Some loud,
And excitement!
For that has become "Us"!
We missed you Dad and Porter!
Can't wait for you to get back home!!!

On the brighter side...

Tav turned 10 months old!
I seriously can't get enough of this little guy! He is so much fun and has such a cute little personality.
Current Stats:
Weight- 19 lbs
Height- 28 1/4 inches
Teeth- Still only 2
Head- 50th percentile (not bad considering the odds)
Fun Tav Facts:
He loves to clap for himself, can wave hello and goodbye.
He loves to jabber out loud, blow raspberries, yell and be loud with his brothers.
He still loves to be right in the mix of things.
He enjoys eating and the spitting up has gotten significantly better!(Hence the 3lb weight gain in one month)
He loves to be outside and frequently enjoys eating rocks and leaves.
AND...
He is WALKING!!!
(which I still can not believe since his brothers didn't walk until they were a year old)

Happy 10 months Tavy! (what Phearson calls him)

Have you ever...

Have you ever just had "that" kind of week? A week where it seems as though there are just a bunch of
Dark Clouds
hanging overhead?
Have you ever been stuck inside a confined space with three little ones for an extended period of time while the rain fell down around you(for days)?

Have you ever had one of the roughest days at work that left you devastated and in tears?

Have you ever had a child randomly, out of no where, vomit his food into the box lunch that the family is sharing at Disneyland and at the same time have two other children diarrhea their diapers so many times you had to leave the "happiest place on earth" early because you ran out of extra diapers and wipes? Have you ever awaken to the sound of little feet RUNNING to the bathroom as quickly as possible to then hear the splashing of another vomit session into the toilet and then have the child quietly return to his bed like nothing ever happened? Have you ever had these same children act as though everything is totally fine the whole time and not complain at all that they feel the least bit "sick" thus leaving you confused and wondering if they really are "sick" and or if "it" will happen again? Have you ever had a child grab a hold of your hand at the pizza parlor and tell you he needs to go to the bathroom... and then ask you to run as he hold desperately to his bottom? Have you ever had that child rip his pant down faster than lightening and then proceed to "go" and then vomit at the same time all over the public restroom tile floor? Have you ever tried to dodge splattering vomit while at the same time comfort the innocent little "vomitier"? Have you ever had to crank the paper towel dispenser so many times to get enough paper to clean up splattered child's vomit off a public restroom tile floor? Have you ever had to change 12 poopy diapers in one day? Have you ever had to rip off all the sheets and bedding from the top bunk bed in the middle of the night after you child has another random vomit session? (24 hrs since last vomit) While attempting not to wake the other children still sleeping in the room. Have you ever come down with the worst cold in your life? Have you ever just let the children play with dishes/Tupperware one evening in the kitchen for hours (making a complete mess) so that you don't have to try and entertain them until bedtime (while dad is not home) because you feel SOOOO CRAPPY? Have you ever turned the oven on the next day to make lunch only to remember you let the children play "cook" the evening before and the smell of burning plastic plates and smoke fill your house? Have you ever tried to clean up melted plastic plates from your oven and oven racks? Have you ever had to call in sick to work because you still feel SO incredibly CRAPPY? Have you ever turned your heater on early the next morning to warm the house before the kids wake up only to have the smoke detector go off and a horrible stench fill the house because one of the kids has dropped something down the heater? Have you ever made a pan of brownies and eaten about have of them all yourself?
GUESS WHAT....
I HAVE!!!
But don't you worry....
The sun is now shining,
The kids are back in school and playing outside,
The vomiting has stopped,
The diarrhea is slowing,
The cold is disappearing,
The oven is clean,
The heater is too.
I will return to work this week,
And the brownies were delish!!
