This year we spent Halloween in Utah. I talked everyone into having a "little" Halloween party filled with lots of festive food, kids, sweets, costumes and a bit of trick or treating.
The frightful menu for the night included
"Mummy Meatloaf"
"Mummy Dogs", a "Veggie Skeleton"
Handburgers
Wormy Fruit
A delicious drink full of creepy surprises
Caramel Apples
Peanut Butter "Eyeballs"
And several feet of mouth watering Almond Bark Popcorn
After dinner and the dipping of apples we got all dressed up for a little bit of terrorizing of the neighborhood... ahem... I mean trick or treating. We had a pretty good size group and LOTS of crazy little boys. I had rained all afternoon but luckily cleared up just in time for some Halloween fun.
"The gang"
(Cody as a Storm Trooper, Amelia as Minnie Mouse, Lincoln as Thomas the Train, Ryker the fireman, Hailey the cheerleader, Tav the Knight, Porter the Biker Skeleton, Spencer the Skeleton, Brendan as Bubba Fet and Phearson as a Knight)
I have to admit that Porter's idea of a "skeleton" was a bit different than what I imagined when he told me that is what he wanted to be for Halloween... bloody knife and all.
My two little Knights, so chivalrous and strong.
The costume was 100% about the sword for these two
But don't you fear. Nothing was going to stop this little Knight from reaching his candy, not even a harmless scarecrow.
The only bummer about Halloween this year was that I got so wrapped up in all the party preparations that I never got a costume put together for myself. I really had planed to dress up but it just didn't happen.
It was a treat of a Halloween!!

I think we need to shoot for a Halloween party next year. Even if it's just for the kids.

You really should be a party planner/caterer! You just do it so well! It was a busy but fun Halloween. I'm so glad you guys could come up, help us move, and celebrate the holiday with us. It was a blast!

Looks great. So sad we weren't able to join in. Someday....sigh...
