A Little Getaway

What do you do when some GREAT friends invite you to join them on a little getaway AND a very SPECIAL Grammy agrees to keep the kids for a whole weekend?
You run...
You run away just as fast as you can of course!
But not without stopping for a "quick" bite to eat!

Before traveling to a fabulous Vacation destination. Palm Springs, California. Lucky for us some of our best of friends Matthew and Megan own a timeshare and invited us away with them.
It really was perfect. Not too far away but just far enough. The sun was shinning and the weather was a fabulous 72-80 degrees.
So what do a bunch of old moms and dads do when they get a few days away you ask?
1. Something different.
We thought it would be fun to do something "out of the ordinary". So we found the most random, interesting "off road" rental place off the highway and did a little quad riding. Although the bathroom was a little eerie...

And the intro/instructional video (in a cave) was a little "interesting"

We geared our selves up...
And went for it!

and it was great!
Next on the list.
2. Lots of Relaxing... and what better way to do that than lounging by the pool.
Of course I did a bit more lounging than Ryan
3. Date night
We got ourselves all dress up, made reservations at the cutest little Steak Restaurant and went out on the town. That's right. We jumped right in that minivan... I mean party van and out we went. Boys in the front and girls in the back. (Just like back in High School right)
Dinner was fun. We all splurged on steak dinners and enjoyed great conversation. You sometimes forget how enjoyable a meal without kids (spilling, complaining, fighting, needing etc.) can be. (and yes... Ryan and Matthew held hands)
4. Game nights
We were not going to let this getaway go by without some gaming. It was a Mexican Train kinda night!
Some of the other memorable moments from our little getaway.
- Late night conversations/confessions
- Sleeping in
- Poolside breakfasts
- Jacuzzi time
- Pre vacation girls night
- Our lack of knowledge about Steaks (with a Vegetarian waitress)
- Late Night Mad Gab..."Check Cove Fault Raids"
- De La Sol
-All red Starbursts
- Ruby Deserts
- Fun Times!! Thanks to Matthew and Megan for inviting us to getaway with them and a huge thanks to Ryan's Mom, Robin for watching the kids!!!
