We walked the streets of the historic Down town San Diego. There was hardly any one there and the weather was perfect! "Mom's gone wild?"
There is the funnest place in down town San Diego that we took the kids to. It is called the Mormon Battalion Historic Site. Weather you are Mormon or not, it is a great place with a great story. -It is the story of a group of men and women who joined the U.S. Army and what they accomplished during and after their march.-(Did I mention it is Free!)
You get to travel through several different rooms as the story unfolds.

We got off the train from San Diego just in time to make a quick trip to Legoland. Just a little tip... Did you know that the last hour before closing, parking to Legoland is free. Did you know that you can get into the park for one hour for free with the request of a Shoppers Pass from guest services? Well you can. Neither Megan or I had ever been to Legoland before so there was a "bit" to figure out in one hour. We checked out the park, rode a few rides and returned again the next day (now that we knew where everything was) to let the kids play in the playgrounds and water area.

After our second trip to Legoland we wandered over to a great little strawberry field close by to pick our own fresh, juicy strawberries. The kids enjoyed looking for that "perfect" strawberry and we filled out bucket quickly.

And what better than a yummy Strawberry Shortcake desert with fresh strawberries!
We were sad to have to leave our cutest, funnest "hotel house" in Oceanside. Megan and I had big plans of hitting the jacuzzi once the kids went to bed and staying up late watching movies. Truth be told... we were exhausted by the end of each day as were the kids and knocked out shortly after the them each night. We played hard and made lots of great memories. A HUGE THANKS to the Germaine Family from Arizona for letting us stay in their adorable beach house!!!!
And a HUGE thanks to Shauni for all the wonderful suggestions of things to do and great places to eat! (Pizza Port!!)
And that is where you thought our Spring Break ended didn't you. Wrong! We hurried home from Oceanside to meet up with my brother Derek and his kids for a fun little sleep over. We miss these guys since they moved back to Utah and were so happy to have them come play!
It was a jam packed, fun filled Spring Break!
Now I need a vacation...
