Back to School

The time has come. Back packs are out, the uniforms and new shoes have been bought. Lunch boxes are packed. Fun has been had, late nights and lazy mornings have been enjoyed. It's time for back to school!
Although I love my summers I have to admit that I was ready for the boys to return to school. Most of us were excited for a new school year, new things to be learned and new friends to be made....
And others of us were not .

I will admit I wasn't really expecting it from him. Phearson maybe, but not Porter. He cried when I woke him up. He cried throughout his shower. He sulked while he got dressed and ate his breakfast and would have nothing good to say about pictures.
Phearson and Tav on the other hand were all about it. All of it. New clothes, backpacks, smiles pictures... all of it.

-The line up-
Porter- 1st Grade
Phearson- Preppy-K
Tav- preschool
Luckily after meeting his teacher, who is super sweet, and with lots of encouragement from mom, aunt Chanda and uncle Daniel, Porter managed to march himself right into his new 1st Grade class.
Luckily for Phearson his teacher this year is Porter's teacher from Kindergarten last year who also taught Phearson's sunbeam class at church. He was familiar of the classroom and how it all worked from seeing Porter do the same thing before. He hung his backpack right up and found his seat on the rug. Tav on the other hand doesn't actually start school until Friday and can hardly wait. We are hoping he is just as excited to stay, as he is talking about it. Fingers crossed!

It turned out to be a great first day back to school! Everyone came out of school with smiles (and red cheeks since it of course just happened to be 100 degrees outside that day!!) Including mom! (amazing what a few hours of peace and quiet can do to a person.)

And even bigger smiles for the annual first day of school Yogurtland treat from Grammy!

Looking forward to a great new school year and to actually get a few things accomplished with several child free mornings a week!!!
