Fourth of July

Since the 4th of July was on a Sunday this year we made a whole weekend out of it. We played and celebrated all day Saturday and Sunday at the coast. We ate yummy festive treats

We played on the beach

And loved to ride Redge and Taber's 4 wheeler

And played on the beach some more

We snuggled, and sat and walked

And enjoyed the company of good friends. (Whitney, Jenna, Taber and Rocco)

I ended up walking around like a one eyed pirate the night of the 4th after after an unfortunate incident with either some sand or an ash and my eyeball.

One of the great things about 4th of July at the coast is that you can light your own fireworks. (Since it is illegal here in Long Beach, CA)

The kids thought it was sooooo great!

And if you ask them they will tell you, hands down, that their favorite firework was "the one that fell down and shot at the crowd". Luckily nobody was harmed and we were all able to have a good laugh about it afterwards.
